CHAPTER 165.
|
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to authorize and require the County Com-
|
|
|
|
|
missioners of Anne Arundel county to build a
|
|
|
|
|
Bridge over the Severn River, in Anne Arundel
|
|
|
|
|
county, and to provide by taxation already levied
|
|
|
|
|
or to be levied, the means for building the same.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
|
|
|
|
bly of Maryland, That the County Commissioners
|
|
|
|
|
of Anne Arundel county be and they are hereby
|
|
|
|

stantial bridge for travel for man or beast, to be

constructed across the Severn River, in Anne Arun-

in Annapolis, situated at the foot of the street com-

|
|
|
monly called and known as "Wagner street," to
|
|
|
|
|
Ferry Bar, on the opposite side of the river, or at
|
|
|
|
|
such point on said river as in the opinion of said
|
|
|
|
|
commissioners, or a majority of them, shall be most
|
|
|
|
|
practical and convenient, and most conducive to the
interest of the public of North Severn and Annapo-
|
|
|
|
|
lis city, and they are hereby authorized to adopt
|
|
|
|
|
such plans and to make such contracts and to do
|
|
|
|
|
such acts as may be necessary for the erection, con-
|
|
|
|
|
struction and completion of said bridge.

|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
|
|
|
|
|
sioners, in causing said bridge to be built, shall have
|
|
|
|
|
the same provided with a suitable and sufficient
|
|
|
|

a width of not less than sixty feet, for safe and se-

cure passing and repassing of vessels and steamers

navigating the same.
