	not no license to sell the same in the districts herein
	mentioned, in Somerset county, shall be issued, shall
	be submitted to the people of said coun ty on the first
	Tuesday of May, eighteen hundred and eighty, which election shall be held in accordance with the law
	governing general elections in this State, and the
	sheriff of. said county shall give notice of the time	Sheriff to

	once a week for two successive weeks, and by hand-
	bills posted in each election district in said county,
	where said election is to take place, at least ten days
	before the said election, in which notice a copy of

	shall be levied by the commissioners of said county
	and paid by the collector thereof.
	SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That ballots for or
	against such sale shall have printed or written on	Ballots — how

	the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors," and the
	ballots so cast shall be carefully counted by the
	judges of said election, and that said judges shall
	make a return of said votes to the clerk of the Cir-
	cuit Court for Somerset county, and said clerk shall
	immediately make proclamation of the result of said
	election.
	SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That if it shall be found
	by said returns of judges of election and proclama-
	tion of the said clerk that a majority of said votes,	Majority vote

	event, it shall not be lawful for any person or persons,
	or body corporate, in the district or districts in which

	manufactured in quantities not less than a gallon,
