CHAPTER 101.

AN ACT to repeal section twenty-six of article four
|
|
|
|
|
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title " City of
|
|
|
|
|
Baltimore," and to re-enact the same with amend-
|
|
|
|
|
ments.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assem-
|
Repealed and
|
|
|
|
bly of Maryland, That section twenty-six of article
|
re-enacted
|
|
|
|
four of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "City
|
|
|
|
|
of Baltimore," be repealed and re-enacted so as to
|
|
|
|
|
read as follows :
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 26. All persons holding office under the
|

corporation of the city of Baltimore shall, unless
|

|
otherwise provided by law or ordinance, hold their
|
sure of May-
|
|
|
|
respective offices during the pleasure of the Mayor;
but no person holding office by appointment of the
said Mayor, who, as officers or employees of said cor-
|
or
|
|
|
|
poration may be defaulters to said corporation of
Baltimore city, or who are not citizens of the United
|
|
|
|
|
States of America, and of the State of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
|
or who are not registered voters in said city of Bal-
|
|
|
|
|
timore, except females, shall hold any office of emolu-
|
|
|
|
|
ment, trust, or profit, under the corporation of
|
|
|
|
|
said Baltimore city. And it shall be the duty of
|
|
|
|
|
the Mayor of said city, upon complaint being made
to him in writing and signed by the party making
|
|
|
|
|
it, involving any one of the above enumerated causes
|
|
|
|
|
and sustained by competent proof, to immediately
|

by him, and vacate, or cause to be vacated, any ap-
