CHAPTEE 93.


AN ACT to enable the qualified voters of Carroll


county to determine by ballot whether spirituous


or fermented liquors or alcoholic bitters shall be

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-


bly of Maryland, That the question as to whether


any person or persons, or any house, may be licensed
in Carroll county, in this State, by whom or in which
spirituous or fermented liquors or alcoholic bitters

voters of said county on the Tuesday next after the


first Monday in November next, eighteen hundred
and eighty, which election shall be held in accordance


with the law governing general elections in this
State, and the sheriff of said county shall give notice

tisement inserted in the newspapers published in said


county, and by handbills posted in each election dis-


trict in said county, at least ten days before the said


election, in which notice a copy of this act shall be


inserted ; and the expenses of said election, includ-


ing the advertisement and handbills aforesaid, shall


be levied by the commissioners of said county and


paid by the treasurer thereof.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That ballots for or


against such sale shall have printed or written on
