AN ACT adopting and legalizing the Code of Public General
Laws and the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, pre-
pared by John Prentiss Poe in pursuance of the act of eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-six, chapter three hundred and two,
entitled " An act to provide for the preparation of a Code of
Public General and Public Local Laws of Maryland," and
declaring the same to be the Code of Public General Laws
and Public Local Laws of this State; and also directing the
codification of the public acts of the present session by said
John Prentiss Poe, and the incorporation thereof in said
Code, in a reprint thereof to be made by him, and to provide
for the payment thereof, and for the sale and disposal by the
State librarian of copies of the same.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Code of Public General Laws of this State,
prepared by John Prentiss Poe and submitted to this general
assembly by him, in pursuance of the act of eighteen hundred
and eighty-six, chapter three hundred and two, entitled "An act
to provide for the preparation of a Code of Public General and
Public Local Laws of Maryland," and examined, approved and
pronounced complete and correct by John W. Crisfield, Julian J.
Alexander and William A. Fisher, the commission appointed by
the court of appeals as authorized by the provisions of the second
section of the said act of eighteen hundred and eighty-six, chapter
three hundred and two, to examine and report upon the same to
this general assembly, and the Code of Public Local Laws of
this State, prepared by said John Prentiss Poe, and in like
manner submitted by him to this general assembly, be and the
same are hereby respectively approved, adopted and declared to
be the Code of Public General Laws and Code of Public Local
Laws of this State, respectively, in lieu of and as a substitute for
all Public General Laws and Public Local Laws of this State in
force on the first Wednesday of January, in the year eighteen
hundred and eighty-eight.
