distances, to wit: beginning on the Choptank river, in said county,
at a point one hundred and fifty feet distant northwesterly from
the centre of West End avenue, as recently laid out by the build-
ing and loan association of Cambridge, and running in a parallel
line with said avenue to the south side of the county road, known
as the Horn's Point road; then with the south side of said road
to the present limits or line of the said town; thence running and
binding with said line to the western boundary of said town;
thence running and binding with the southern and eastern lines
or limita of said town to the foot of Cemetery avenue; thence
across the creek and in a parallel line with Maryland avenue to
the county road leading from the avenue last aforesaid to the
Jacktown road; thence with the lands of W. Wilson Byrn, and
binding therewith, to the Choptank river, and thence running and
binding with said river to the place of beginning.

43. Nothing contained in this sub-title of this article shall be
construed to impose upon said town, or the inhabitants thereof,
the obligation of maintaining and keeping in repair the bridge
connecting East and West Cambridge, but the county commis-
sioners shall have, maintain and control the same; provided,
however, that said town commissioners shall preserve order on,
and have and possess police jurisdiction over said bridges, as fully
and in all respects as over other portions of said town.

44. The said town shall be divided into five wards, which shall
be bounded as follows, to wit: First ward—beginning for the
first ward at the foot of Gay street, and running and binding with
the creek and Choptank river, (including the long wharf,) to the
beginning boundary of the said town on said river, and running
and binding with the northwestern line of said town to Glasgow
street extended (Hambrook's road); thence with Glasgow street
to High street, to Court lane, and thence to the place of beginning.
Second ward—beginning for the second ward at the corner of
High and Glasgow streets; thence with High to Pine street;
thence with Pine to Washington; thence with Pine street extend-
ed in a straight line to the southern limits of said town; thence
