774 CARROLL COUNTY. [ART. 7.

P. L L., (1860,) art. 7, sec. 122.

254. The mayor may remit any fine or penalty imposed under
any ordinance of the mayor and common council.

WITNESSES.

P. L. L., (1860,) art. 7, sec. 145.

255. The county commissioners shall annually levy such a sum
as they may deem sufficient to pay all the State's witnesses who
may be summoned to attend the circuit court for said county.

Ibid. sec. 146.

256. The collectors of taxes shall pay each witness such sum
as he shall appear, by the certificate of the clerk of the circuit
court, to be entitled to receive, immediately after such witness is.
discharged from his attendance at said court.
