602 CALVERT COUNTY. [ART. 5.

1876, ch. 83.

58. He is authorized and empowered to administer an oath or
affirmation to any person presenting a claim to said commission-
ers against the county, for which service he shall not be entitled
to make any charge, the same being hereby made a part of his

official duty.

CRIER.

1870, ch. 328.

59. The county commissioners are authorized and directed to
levy annually for the use of the crier of the circuit court, on the
assessable property in the county, one hundred dollars, which
shall be in lieu of all other allowance or compensation whatever,
and the same shall be collected and paid over as other public
charges are collected and paid in the said county.

60. The article of the code of public general laws, entitled
" Crows," shall not relate or apply to Calvert, Carroll, Caroline,
Charles, Frederick, Garrett, Harford, Montgomery, Prince George's,
Queen Anne's, Talbot, Allegany, Baltimore and Dorchester coun-
ties.

CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.

1880, ch. 129.

61. The provisions of sections 241 to 245, of article 4, of the
public local laws, title "City of Baltimore," relating to " Cruelty
to Animals," shall apply to Calvert county as fully as if repeated
in this article.

DOGS AND FOXES.

1870, ch. 338.

62. The county commissioners are authorized and directed to
levy a tax of fifty cents upon the owner of each and every dog in
said county, except dogs three months old and under, and to ap-
propriate a certain portion of said tax as a compensation to any
person who may in any manner kill or destroy any fox in the

county.
