228 BALTIMORE COUNTY. [ART. 3.

P. L. L., (1860,) art. 3, sec 147.

186. A certificate, under the hand and seal of the register of
wills for said county, that it appears by the records in his office
that letters testamentary, or of administration, or of collection,
have been granted, shall be as good and available in any case what-
ever and to all intents and purposes as the original letters testa-
mentary, or of administration, or of collection, duly granted^
would be, if exhibited.

187. He may make searches of and take office copies from
the books of records, dockets and minutes of proceedings of the
orphans' court of Baltimore city in all cases where the same are
required in relation to estates where the deceased was, at the
time of his death, a resident of Baltimore county, without the-
city of Baltimore, and may receive the usual fees therefor.

ROADS.

1878, ch. 340.

188. The county commissioners, at their first meeting in
January in every second year, accounting from the year eighteen,
hundred and seventy-nine, shall appoint for each election district
of said county, three persons, discreet and trustworthy taxpayers,
residents of such districts, to act as road commissioners of that
district for the term of two years, computing from the first day
of January, or until their successors are appointed; the commis-
sioners thus appointed in each district shall constitute a board of
road commissioners for that district, one of whom shall be elected
by said board to act as chairman; they shall each give bond to
the county commissioners, properly conditioned 'for the faithful
performance of their duties, in the penal sum of one thousand
dollars.

189. The road commissioners so appointed for each election
