116. They may appoint annually a bailiff for said town, who
shall perform such duties as may be required of him by them,
and preserve peace and good order in said town; and for that
purpose he shall have all the powers of a constable.

117. They may levy a tax on all clogs kept in said town, and
may collect the same as other taxes, or in default of payment may
cause said dogs to be killed.

118. All fines and forfeitures under the ordinances of the
said corporation, shall be recoverable before the president of the
board of commissioners, or any justice of the peace in and for
said county, as small debts are recoverable.

119. The county commissioners shall annually levy such sum
of money as they may deem sufficient to pay the expenses which
may annually be incurred by the attendance of jurymen at the
circuit court for said county.

120. The collector of taxes for said county shall pay each
juryman, immediately after the termination of each term, such
sum of money as he may be entitled to receive for his attendance;
and a certificate, signed by the clerk of the circuit court, stating
the number of days he may have attended, and the sum due him,
shall be sufficient authority to the collector to pay the amount
specified in said certificate.
