2030 WASHINGTON COUNTY. [ART. 22.

by bathing, swimming, boating, skating, or by throwing therein
any filth, garbage, carcass or other matter, or to conduct or carry
on, at or adjacent to any of said reservoirs and storage dams, any
trade or business affecting the cleanliness or purity of the water
in said reservoirs and storage dams.

1883, ch. 21.

395. It shall not be lawful for any person to interfere with,
break, injure, deface, carry away or destroy any of the pipes,
valves, stops, castings, fire plugs, hydrants, instruments or appa-
ratus of the said water company leading to and from any of the
reservoirs and storage dams of said company, or on the grounds
of said company, or along the lines of its streams or pipes, or in
the town of Hagerstown.

396. It shall not be lawful for any person to open any of the
stops and valves, or tap any of the pipes of the said water com-
pany, or draw therefrom any water, without the permission of
said company first had and obtained under such regulations es
said company shall prescribe.

397. It shall not be lawful for any person to open or interfere
in any manner with any of the tire-plugs and hydrants of said
water company, or discharge any water therefrom without the
permission of said company first had and obtained under such
regulations as said company shall prescribe.

398. It shall not be lawful for any person to do, or cause to
be done, any act whatsoever whereby the water or works, reser-
voirs, storage dams, or any pipe, plug, hydrant, valve, cock,
meter, motor, instrument or machine belonging to the said water
company shall be stopped, obstructed, impaired or injured.

399. Upon information given upon oath or affirmation to any
justice of the peace of Washington county of any violation of
any of the provisions of this sub-title of this article, he shall issue
his warrant, to be directed to the sheriff or any constable of said
