1868, ch. 433.

81. The twelfth election district is divided into three election
precincts, with the metes and bounds established by the act of
1868, chapter 433. '

82. It shall be the duty of the commissioners of Baltimore
county to appoint three persons for each of said precincts, resi-
dents thereof, to act as judges of elections for said precincts, who
shall perform the duties of their office as now required by law,
and such judges shall make their returns in the same manner as
if the said precincts were districts, and in accordance with the
law now applicable to judges of elections for districts, and they
shall receive the same compensation as other judges of election
in said county.

83. When there shall be presented to the county commission-
ers a petition signed by not less than twenty-five qualified voters
of any election district in Baltimore county, stating that for pur-
poses of greater convenience of voting in their respective district
they desire that said district shall be sub-divided anew into new
election precincts, the county commissioners are directed and
empowered to increase the number of precincts in said district to
a number not exceeding ten, or to redistribute such precincts as
already exist in said district, having regard as much as is prac-
ticable to the convenience of the voters in said district, holding
in view as well the equal distribution of the number of qualified
voters in each of said precincts as is reasonably practicable; each
of said precincts to be designated by a number.

84. The judges and clerks of election in said county shall re-
ceive three dollars a day while acting as such; the return judges
who reside over ten miles from the court-house, shall be entitled
to two days' extra pay, and other return judges to one day's extra

pay.

85. When the lands of any two persons adjoin, each of them
shall make and maintain one-half of the whole length of the line
