are authorized and directed to levy annually for his use, on the
assessable property of said county, such sum of money as they
shall deem sufficient to pay said, per diem j and upon presentation
to them of the certificate of the clerk of said court, certifying
the number of days in which said crier has been engaged at each
term of said court, they are directed to pay the said per diem in
cash.

39. Article 28 of the code of public general laws, entitled
" Crows," shall not relate or apply to Talbot, Queen Anne's,
Montgomery, Calvert, Harford, Charles, Carroll, Caroline, Fred-
erick, Garrett, Prince George's, St. Mary's, Allegany, Baltimore
and Dorchester counties.

40. The provisions of sections 241 to 245 of article 4 of the
public local laws, title " City of Baltimore," relating to " Cruelty
to Animals," shall apply to Talbot county as fully as if
repeated in this article.

41. The inhabitants of the town of Easton, in Talbot county,
are a body politic, by the name of "The Commissioners of Easton,"
and by that name may sue and be sued, and may have and use a
common seal, and alter the same at pleasure. The boundaries of
said town shall be described on the plats thereof on record in the
office of the clerk of the circuit court for Talbot county.

42. The taxable limits of said town, in addition to the bound-
aries of said town, as now existing and described on the plats
thereof, on record in the office of the clerk of the circuit court
for Talbot county, are as follows: Beginning for the same at
stone number three, being the northeast corner of the said town
