205. The commissioners may levy a tax for the expenses of
the corporation upon the taxable property within the town limits,
and the bailiff shall collect the same and shall have power to dis-
train for the same in the same manner as collectors of county and
State taxes now do, subject t<> such regulations as the commis-
sioners of said town may make in relation thereto.

206. At their first meeting they shall elect a president, who
shall preside over their deliberations at all their meetings when
he shall be present, and in his absence the board shall appoint a
temporary chairman.

207. Before any levy shall be made, they shall appoint three
assessors to ascertain the value of the property within the town
limits, who shall return the same to them, for record in their
proceedings, which shall be the basis of taxation, and they shall
have power to add to and amend the same, annually, before
making such levy.

208. All offenders against any of the ordinances of the said
commissioners for the regulation of the town, shall be tried before
a justice of the peace of Princess Anne district of Somerset
county, who may fine the offender, if guilty, a sum not exceeding
twenty dollars, and may commit the party till the fine shall be
paid; or the fine may be recovered as small debts are now recov-
erable, in the name of said commissioners; and the said fine
shall be paid to the town commissioners for the use of said
corporation; but the said town commissioners shall have power, on
cause shown, to remit said fine.

209. The limits of said town of Princess Anne shall be the
same as those laid down and described by Levin Handy, Littleton
Long, Sr. and Nathaniel Dixon, Jr., by virtue of a commission
issued by the county commissioners of Somerset county, to them
directed, dated fourth of March, eighteen hundred and sixty-two,
