ceding section; they shall organize, and any two of them shall

constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.

1888. ch. 94.

243. In order to pay the interest on said bonds and to grad-
ually redeem the same, the commissioners of Laurel are author-
ized, empowered, directed and required to levy an additional
tax in the month of June in each and every year until said bonds
and interest shall be fully paid, not exceeding fifteen cents on
every one hundred dollars of assessable property within the limits
of said town, from which they shall pay the semi-annual interest
on said bonds, and the entire balance shall be invested in some
savings institution, or in bonds to create a sinking fund, to redeem
said bonds at maturity or prior thereto; and the additional taxes
herein authorized shall be inviolably applied to this purpose and
none other; and the commissioners of Laurel shall, at the expir-
ation of each current year, publish a statement showing the
amount of money collected by this additional taxation, the
amount paid as interest, and the manner and place of the invest-
ment, in said sinking fund.

244. The said trustees shall publish in some newspaper pub-
lished in said town selected by them, or by handbills posted, the
several bids rejected and accepted, and render an account at least
every six months, of their receipts and expenditures, to said com-
missioners.

245. The county commissioners shall authorize and direct the
treasurer of said county to pay, from time to time, to the com-
missioners of Laurel, the amount of the tax levied or taxed upon
the real property within the limits of said town, to be appropri-
ated and used by the said commissioners of Laurel, for the repair
and improvement of the streets and roads within the limits of
said town, and for such other improvements as said commis-
sioners of Laurel shall deem proper.

246. The county commissioners are authorized to levy, at the
levy term for the year eighteen hundred and eighty-nine, for the
