the county commissioners for each current year, he shall be enti-
tled to be paid by them the full commission on the whole amount
of State and county taxes received by him and satisfactorily
Accounted for according to law.

113. He shall fully settle up with the county commissioners,
within eighteen months from the date of their levy, all taxes
placed in his hands for collection, after which time his bond shall
be liable to suit for any taxes uncollected as aforesaid; and it
shall be the duty of the county commissioners, and they are
required to enter suit upon the bond of said treasurer and col-
lector for all county taxes remaining uncollected in the hands of
the collector eighteen months after the same were levied.

114. All moneys belonging to the county, and collected by
the treasurer and collector thereof, shall be deposited in bank in
the name of the treasurer of said county, as treasurer and col-
lector of said county, and under no circumstances be deposited in
Ms own name alone.
1878, ch. 73.
115. The treasurer shall be entitled to a clerk, to be appointed
by himself, whose pay shall be five hundred dollars per annum;
and the county commissioners shall levy an amount at their
annual levy-laying term sufficient to pay the salary of said clerk;
and the said treasurer shall have the right, within twelve months
after the expiration of the term of his office, to return to the
county commissioners a list of all taxes uncollected by him;
together with all expenses attending the same; and if, upon
examination by the county commissioners, his statement is found
correct, and the said treasurer has complied with the law requir-
ing him to enforce the payment of said unpaid taxes, they shall
receive the said list so returned and release the said treasurer and
the sureties on his bond from all liability on account of the
amount so returned by him, and place the said taxes so returned,
in the hands of the treasurer of said county, to be collected and
accounted for by him as other taxes placed in his hands for col-
lection.
