1370 HARFORD COUNTY. [ART. 13.

1878, ch. 212 1888, ch. 871.

243. It shall be the official duty of the register of wills for
said county, to keep regularly a continuous general index or key
to guardians' accounts, and to wills in his office.

1886, ch. 50.

244. The deputy of the register of wills is empowered to
administer all oaths that the register of will is by law empowered
to administer.

ROADS.

P. L. L., (1860,) art. 12, sec. 94.

245. The county commissioners are authorized, in their dis-
cretion, to re-survey and mark and bound the public roads in
Harford county, when and where they may deem such re-survey
necessary and expedient.

246. Whenever they shall deem it expedient that any of the
public roads shall be re-surveyed, they shall appoint three per-
sons not interested or holding lands through which said road may
pass; and the persons so appointed, after giving thirty days'
notice thereof, shall meet on the premises and re-survey and
mark and bound such public road according to the best evidence
they can obtain of the location thereof, either by examination of
witnesses, or by reference to former surveys, or by personal in-
spection of such road; and in the absence of other sufficient and
satisfactory evidence, the examiners are authorized to adopt the
centre of such road as the centre thereof according to its true
location, and mark and bound such road accordingly, giving it
the proper width to which it may be entitled, being not less
than thirty feet in any case; and they shall make and return to
the county commissioners a plat of such road, with a full report
of their proceedings, under their hands.

247. The examiners, before they proceed to act, shall take an
oath to execute the trust reposed in them by the commission
issued to them, faithfully and without favor, affection or partial-
ity, which oath shall be endorsed on the commission and returned
therewith.
