deem just and proper, to be levied by the county commissioners
of the county from which the cause was removed, at their next
annual levy.
SURVEYOR.
1884, ch. 95.
435. Whenever the county commissioners, under the pro-
visions of the code of public general laws of Maryland, relating
to county commissioners and public and private roads, shall
appoint examiners to view the premises with a view to locate any
public or private road, and said examiners, in pursuance of their
duty, shall require the services of a surveyor, such examiner
shall notify the surveyor for said county, whose duty it shall be
to render the service required by said examiners, either in person,
or by deputy.

436. The county surveyor of Frederick county is authorized
and required to make out a complete record of all surveys of
land in said county, now on file in his office, and all surveys made
hereafter by him, and all surveys made by private surveyors that
may be brought to him for record, in well-bound record books, to
he procured by him at his own expense.

437. He shall make out and keep a complete index of all
surveys recorded, or to be hereafter recorded in his office, in
well-bound books to be procured at his own expense.

438. Whenever so requested, he shall record all surveys made
by private surveyors upon payment to him at the rate of ten
cents for every one hundred words, and shall make copies or
abstracts of surveys from his records whenever the same shall be
demanded, upon payment to him of the like sum of ten cents per
one hundred words; provided, that no such charge shall be made
when such copies or abstracts shall be called for by the circuit
court, the orphans' court or the county commissioners.
