1120 FREDERICK COUNTY. [ART. 11.

P. L. L., (1860,) art. 11, sec. 50.

106. The judges and clerks of elections in Frederick county
shall each be entitled to three dollars for every day they shall
attend and act as such.

EMMITSBURG.

P. L. L., (1860.) art. 11, sec. 61.

107. The citizens of the town of Emmitsburg and Shields
Addition to Emmitsburg are a body corporate by the name of
" The Burgess and Commissioners of Emmitsburg," and by that
name may sue and be sued, may have and use a common seal, and
may purchase and hold real, personal and mixed property, not
exceeding in amount the sum of ten thousand dollars, and may
dispose of the same for the benefit of said town.

108. The taxable limits of said town shall be as follows: begin-
ning on the road leading from Baltimore to Emmitsburg, at the
southeast corner of lot number one hundred and four, in the plan,
of Emmitsburg, as recorded in the land records of Frederick
county, and running thence in a northeastwardly direction with
the boundary line of Emmitsburg, until the said line strikes Flat
run, at the southeast corner of lot number one hundred and
eighty-seven; thence up Flat run until it strikes the road leading
from Gettysburg to Emmitsburg, at the northeast corner of lot
number one hundred and seventy-eight; thence in a straight line
and the nearest direction until it strikes a small stream which
passes through Michael Eider's meadow; thence up the bed of
said stream until it strikes the road leading from Waynesborough
to Emmitsburg; thence in a straight line to the southwest corner
of Andrew Annon's barn; thence in a straight line to the south-
west corner of a lot not numbered, adjoining lot number sixty-
four, in the plan of Emmitsburg aforesaid; thence with the
boundary line of Emmitsburg to the place of beginning, including
Emmitsburg, as it stands in plan upon record as aforesaid, Shields'
Addition to Emmitsburg, and lots of Isaac E. Pearson, Jacob
Motter, Henry Riddlemoser, Andrew Annon, and others; and for
sanitary purposes, and to prevent the introduction of contagious
