nances condemned to the highest bidder for cash, after ten days'
notice at two of the most public places in the neighborhood.

176. After the payment of the costs of prosecuting the offender,
the proceeds of the fine and the sale of the boat and other articles
condemned shall be apportioned in the following manner: one-
fourth to the sheriff or constable making the arrest and seizure
and the residue amongst those whom he may have summoned,
and who may have aided in the same, to be determined and
awarded by the justice of the peace.

177. Any person aggrieved by any judgment rendered against
him by any justice under sections 174 or 175 may appeal there-
from to the circuit court at any time within ten days from the
rendition of such judgment, upon giving an approved appeal
bond in the manner prescribed for appeals from judgments of
justices of the peace in other cases.

178. It shall not be lawful to haul a seine of any description
whatever in the waters of the Choptank river and its tributaries,
within the borders of or jurisdiction of Dorchester county, for the
purpose of catching fish, from the first day of May to the first day

179. Any person violating the preceding section, upon con-
viction thereof before a justice of the peace residing in the counties
of Dorchester, Caroline or Talbot, opposite the shores where the
offence is committed, shall be fined not less than ten dollars nor
more than twenty-five dollars for each offence, to be collected in
the same manner and by the same process of law as other fines
or small debts are collected.
