29. No justice shall charge, take and receive any fees or com-
pensation for mileage, or journey fee for the performance of any duty
or business relating to his office as justice of the peace, except
what the party may agree to pay to a justice going from his office to
take the acknowledgment of a deed or other instrument of writing.
