44 CONSTABLES. [Art. 23.

Sec sec. 21, of article 11, " Attorneys. "
Sec also the following acts:

1861. c. 43, to enable A. Lingan Jarrett, comptroller, to enter into bond
and qualify.

1862. c. 23, and 1864, c. 401, relating to redemption of "stamps. "

1863. c. 37, authorizing the comptroller to examine and settle accounts
of clerks in the several tobacco warehouses; and repealing the act therein
referred to.

1862, c. 169, and 1872, c. 70, authorizing the comptroller to adjust and
settle the accounts of inspectors of grain in the city of Baltimore.

1868, c. 210, relating to settling and adjusting claims. (See sec. 21, of
article 11, " Attorneys. " )

1868, c. 223, authorizing the comptroller to invest the balance of fund
arising from stile of land scrip, donated to this stale by the United Slates,
&c.

1868, c. 425, providing: for the liquidation of claims for arming, &c., the
militia.

1872, c. 196, authorizing the comptroller to adjust and settle accounts
due by collectors, sheriffs, &c., in cases where the indebtedness accrued
prior to and including the year 1869; and see 1874, c. 30, repealing s. 1, of
this act, and re-enacting same.

Constables;

regulating the fees of constables.

1867. c. 375, continues 1805, c. 67, in force till April 1, 1860.

1868. c. 317, continues same act in force till April 1, 1870.

1870, c. 196, extends said act till April 1, 1872; and by
1872, c. 424, is continued in force until modified or repealed
by the General Assembly.

1865, c. 41, makes valid acts of justices of the peace and constables who
failed to qualify under the new constitution, within the time required;
and who have been re-appointed, and since qualified according to law.
