lect all county taxes levied annually by the county
commissioners of said county under and by the exist-
ing laws of the state of Maryland, in the same man-
ner that collectors of county taxes are required to pro-
ceed to collect and enforce the payment thereof, and

shall be required to report monthly under oath to the
county commissioners the amount collected by him;
and on the first day of July succeeding the levy for
each current year, and not before, (except to persons
who owe county taxes and have a levy standing on the
books of the county commissioners, in their own name
or as assignees, and then only on the amount of the
county taxes due by them respectively, ) the said county

commissioners may draw upon the said treasurer, pro
rata, to all who shall present such certificate within
ten days after the first of each and every month for
the amount that may then appear to be in his hands,
and continue so to draw, as they may find funds in the
hands of said treasurer, until they have discharged all
the debts due and owing by Prince George's county
for which the said levy or assessment was made. It is
hereby declared to be the intention and meaning of
this act that the county commissioners shall, when
requested, issue county certificates of indebtedness to
any person having a levy on their books, showing the
amount due by Prince George's county to them, which
may be transferable and taken up by the said county
commissioners by draft on the treasurer as hereinbefore
provided, and the clerk of the county commissioners
shall be entitled, for the increased duties imposed by

this act, to the sum of two hundred dollars in addition
to the compensation he now receives, and the said trea-
surer shall be the collector of county taxes, under the
express direction and control of the county commis-
sioners of said county, so far as enforcing payment of
the same under existing laws, and he shall immedi-
ately, upon receiving the assessment or rate of tax,
proceed, as hereinafter provided for, to collect the
same, and may, at any time after he lias given notice
required by this act to be given, proceed forthwith to
