COLLECTORS.
1870, c. 217 repeals sections 82 and 84 relating to the redemption of real estate sold
for taxes, and the mode of recovering possession thereof.
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.
1870, c. 449 adds the following and repeals all acts inconsistent therewith:

87. At the next general election for county officers
in Dorchester county, there shall be but three commis-
sioners elected for said county, whose duties shall be as
are now or may hereafter be prescribed by law.

90. The county commissioners of Dorchester county
are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to ap-
point, at their first meeting in January, or their first
meeting at any time thereafter in the year eighteen
hundred and seventy-one, and annually thereafter, a
clerk, who shall also act as treasurer to said board,

whose duty it shall be to record the proceedings of
said board, receive and disburse all moneys levied and
collected for county purposes according to the order
and direction of the county commissioners of said
county; he shall keep a separate account with each
collector, and make quarterly returns of said amounts
to the board as often as required by them; he shall
keep the office of said commissioners open from nine
o'clock A. M., until three o'clock P. M., each week

day; he shall be required to give bond to the county
commissioners of Dorchester county, in a penalty of at
least double the amount to be "received and disbursed
by him, with sureties to be approved by the said com-
missioners, and conditioned for the faithful discharge
of the duties of his office as treasurer, and the faithful
disbursement of all moneys received by him according
to the order and direction of the county commissioners
of Dorchester county, and the said bond, when exe-
cuted and approved as aforesaid, shall be filed and re-
corded in the office of the clerk of the circuit court for
Dorchester county, and a copy thereof duly certified
shall be evidence in any court of law or equity; he
