1870, c. 406 enacts the following:

Powers of presi-
dent and com-
missioners.
|
212. The president and commissioners of the town
of Cecilton, in Cecil county, are authorized and em-
powered to suppress all disorderly meetings, to pre-
vent the firing of cannon, guns, fire-arms, squibs, or
fire-works of any kind, to abate all nuisances, to pre-
vent swine, geese or ducks from running at large, the
driving of horses at a rate exceeding eight miles per
hour, and the parading or indecent exhibition of any
stud, horse or horses within the limits of said town.

Fines.

213. Any person violating any of the provisions of
the preceding section or any section of any act incor-
porating said town, may be fined any sum not exceed-
ing ten dollars, to be recovered in the name of the
president and town commissioners of the said town, as
other small debts are now collected by law.

214. All fines imposed by the said commissioners
shall be collected in the name of the president and
commissioners of said town as other small debts are
now collected by law.

Bailiff.
|
215. The bailiff of said town shall be subject to the
order or orders of the said president and town com-
missioners, and upon his refusal to comply with any
order, may be by them immediately removed from
office.

SCHOOLS.
1870, c. 88 enacts the following, and repeals all acts inconsistent therewith:
1. That the annual donation of twelve hundred dollars, known as the academic
fund of Cecil county, be and the same is hereby apportioned among the following
named academies of said county, as follows: To the Elkton academy, the sum of
five hundred dollars; to the West Nottingham academy, the sum of five hundred
dollars; to the North-East classical seminary, the sum of two hundred dollars; said
sums to be paid annually.
2. That the treasurer, on the warrant of the comptroller, is hereby authorized to pay
annually, on the first day of April in each year, the said sum of five hundred dol-
lars to said Elkton academy, and the said sum of five hundred dollars to said West
Nottingham academy, and the said sum of two hundred dollars to said North-East
classical seminary.
Approved and in force March 12, 1870.
1870, c. 323 repeals 1868, c. 234, relating to the annual donation of five hundred
dollars to the West Nottingham academy.
