commissioners, and it shall be the duty of the said
clerk to administer the said oath, or a similar one, and
have it signed by all officers of the said town subse-
quently elected.

251. The commissioners of the said town, after the
first election and qualification provided for in the pre-
ceding section, shall have full power and authority to
order and direct such other elections as may be neces-
sary under the provisions of this act, to give notice
thereof, to determine upon the number of judges of
such elections, (who shall act and make their returns
as provided in the preceding section, ) appoint them,
and fix the place for opening the polls and the hours
they shall be kept open, and to call such town meet-
ings as they may deem expedient from time to time.

Subsequent
elections.

1370, c. 308 entitled an act for the better protection of game in Baltimore and Car-
roll counties enacts as follows:
1. No person shall trap, shoot, or in any manner patch, kill, maim or wound any
partridge or pheasant between the first day of October, 1870, and the first day of
October, 1872.
2. No person shall trap, shoot, or in any manner catch, kill, maim or wound any
rabbit within six miles of the city of Baltimore, in Baltimore county, between the
first day of October, 1870, and the first day of October, 1872.
3. Any person violating the preceding sections of this act shall pay a fine of
twenty dollars for each and every offence to the county commissioners wherein the
offence was committed, one-half for the benefit of the public schools of said county
and one-half to the informer, to be collected before any justice of the peace as other
small debts; provided, that the provisions of this act shall not apply to any owner
of land trapping or shooting upon his own lands.
