ART. 3. ] BALTIMORE COUNTY.

their objection in writing, and the county commis-
sioners shall issue their warrant to the sheriff of Bal-
timore county, directing him to summon a jury of
twenty disinterested freeholders, inhabitants of said
county, and not related to any of the parties making
the objection, to meet on the premises at a time stated
in said warrant, of which at least five days notice shall
be given to the person or persons filing the objections,
and of the jury so summoned; the objector or objec-
tors shall have the right to strike four and the super-
visors four, so that the jury may be reduced to twelve;
who shall proceed to consider the award or judgment
of the supervisors and the objections thereto, and they
may reverse, alter, amend or confirm the award or
judgment of the supervisors, and the costs shall be paid
as the jury may direct and their judgment shall be
final; and when no objection shall have been filed
within the time herein granted or if objection shall
have been filed and the road petitioned for confirmed,
the county commissioners shall record such road as a
public road of Baltimore county, and the award, if for

damages, shall be paid by the county commissioners
to the person or persons entitled to receive the same
within ninety days from the recording of said road;
and the awards, if for benefits, shall be considered a
tax upon the property assessed, and shall be paid to
the county commissioners within sixty days from the
recording of said road, and shall be applied to the pur-
pose of paying the damages and construction of said
road; and whenever there shall not be sufficient money
in the hands of the county commissioners, assessed and
collected for the payment of damages and the cost of
construction of any road under this act, the county
commissioners are directed to pay such deficiency out
of the special road and bridge fund of the district
or districts so assessed; and if more than one district
is assessed, the deficiency shall be paid out of the
special funds of such districts in proportion to the
