204 BALTIMORE COUNTY. [ART. 3.

BRIDGES.

By the act of 1870, c. 93 the county commissioners of Baltimore county are author-
ized and required to levy a sum of money, sufficient for the purpose of constructing
a bridge over Jones' falls, at Woodberry, in Baltimore county, said bridge to be of
ninety feet span, elevated above the bed of the stream, five feet higher than the pre-
sent foot bridge, to have a central roadway twenty feet wide in the clear, and adver-
tise for proposals for said work, and contract with the lowest responsible bidder for
the same; provided, that the present constituted authorities, having control of roads
and bridges in Baltimore county, shall fail from any cause to construct said bridge,
before the time of making the next annual levy by the county commissioners.

1870, c. 118 provides for the erection of a bridge over the Gunpowder river at
Warren factory.

1870, c. 119 provides for the erection of a bridge over the Gunpowder river at
Cromwell's ford.

1870, c. 134 authorizes and requires the county commissioners of Baltimore county
to levy a sum of money not exceeding three hundred dollars, for the purpose of re-
imbursing certain parties for expense incurred in the erection of two bridges over
George's run.

By the act of 1870, c. 413 the county commissioners of Baltimore county are au-
thorized and required to levy a sum of money on the assessable property of said
county at the next levy term, to the amount of three thousand dollars, to build a
bridge over Jones' falls, so as to connect a road, hereafter to be laid out and opened
north of the Western run leading from the ground recently purchased by or donated
to the Northern Central railroad, for a new depot and station house, with the Falls
road.

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

By the act of 1870, c 307 the county commissioners of Baltimore county are au-
thorized and empowered to sell (when in their discretion it shall be deemed advis-
able) any or all stocks held and owned by Baltimore county in any turnpike roads
in this state.

ELECTIONS.

1870, c. 429 repeals sections 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 of the act of 1868, c. 433 and re-enacts the
same with amendments as follows. [Sup. 1868, p. 258 ]
