ing for oysters in certain waters of Dorchester county."

44. In addition to the duties required of the com-
manding officer of the oyster police force, under the
provisions of the forty-first section of chapter four
hundred and six of the act of assembly, passed at
January session, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, the
said commanding officer is required, from the first day
of October in each year, to the first day of April
in the following year, at such times as he shall be
able to spare them, to detail a portion of his force, to-
gether with a boat or barge, to visit and cruise about
the Susquehanna and other rivers of this state, and
enforce the provisions of article ninety-eight of the
code of public general laws relating to wild fowl.

tapsco river, enacts the following:

45. It shall not be lawful for any person or persons
to rake, drag or dredge for oysters within five hundred
yards of either edge of the new channel at the mouth
of Patapsco river, known as the " Craighill Channel,"
extending from the Seven Foot Knoll to the mouth of
Magothy river.

46. Any person or persons violating the first section
of this act shall forfeit his boat or vessel, and it shall
be lawful for any justice of the peace of the county or
city in which such person or persons shall be arrested,
to try such person or persons, and on conviction, to
condemn said boat or vessel, and sell the same on five
