HOWARD COUNTY. [ART. 13.
Howard county Record, and that be shall appoint

one or more clerks, if necessary, who shall keep a
record of the persons voting, and the persons voted
for, and the persons having the highest number of
votes for the several offices of mayor and city coun-
cil, shall be declared duly elected.

ter, as hereinbefore provided for, the mayor shall
give at least two weeks' notice of any subsequent
election to be held under this charter, and shall

6. Whenever an election shall be held under this
charter it shall be the duty of the judges and clerk
or clerks of said election to notify the persons elected
of their election, and the mayor and city council so
elected shall severally hold their respective offices
for the space and term of two years from the date
of their qualification, and until their successors shall
be duly elected and qualified; and they shall not be
entitled to any compensation for services rendered in
the discharge of the duties imposed on them by this
charter.

notice.

7. If notice of such election shall not be given
as hereinbefore required, or if the judges of election
shall not be appointed, or shall refuse to act, five or
more voters of the said city may call an election for
said officers by notices set up in the most public
places in the said city, not less than one week pre-
vious to such election, therein naming the time
and place of holding such election, and naming
the judges thereof, who, or any two of them, shall
hold such election.
