East New Market, in Dorchester county, to proceed
to complete their organization by electing officers,
and in all respects become a body corporate and
politic, as much so as if they had held their election
for officers within the time specified in the said sec-
tions.

148. Whenever, from any cause the annual elec-
tion for commissioners does not take place as pro-
vided in section one hundred and thirty-four, it
shall be lawful and proper for the said commission-
ers of the town aforesaid to appoint such other day
or days for such election of commissioners as they
may think proper, not exceeding sixty days after
the first named day.

149. The commissioners of Dorchester county are
hereby empowered and authorized to regulate the
travel over Slaughter Creek bridge; to bring action
at law to recover damages against any person or per-
sons, who may injure said bridge by violent or care-
less driving, by making fast thereto vessels or scows,

the damage so recovered to be paid into the county
treasury.
