Enforcement
of taxes.

42. The bailiff of said town may enforce the pay-
ment of town taxes in the same manner and with
like effect as collectors of state and county taxes.

In force from January 29, 1866.
1866, c. 110 enacts the following:

43. The qualified voters residing in the town of
Cecilton, in Cecil county, shall have the privilege of
deciding by ballot, at the time for holding the next
election for town commissioners of said town, and at
the time for holding election for commissioners for
said town each and every year thereafter, whether
any license to sell spirituous or fermented liquors of
any kind or description whatsoever, shall be granted
or issued by the clerk of the circuit court for Cecil
county, to any person to vend or sell the same within
the limits of said town.

44. Should a majority of the votes cast at any
election held as provided in the first section hereof,
be unfavorable to the issuing of the said license, it
shall not be lawful for the said clerk of the said cir-
cuit court to issue any license for the sale of spiritu-
ous or fermented liquors of any kind, within the
limits of said town, until a majority of the qualified
voters of said town, at some subsequent election held
under the provisions of the said first section shall
decide in favor of issuing licenses for the sale of
spirituous and fermented liquors in said town.

CHESAPEAKE CITY.

1861, c. 87 repeals section 46 of this article and substitutes the following:

46. If any person shall refuse or neglect to pay
his taxes, fines or forfeitures, the said commissioners
may collect the same, in the same manner as other
taxes, fines and forfeitures are collected.
