When term of
office to begin.

560. The inspectors appointed under the provi-
siens of this act shall enter upon the duties of their
office on the first Monday in April, eighteen hundred
and sixty-two.

JAIL.
1802, c. 8 adds the following :

Warden to send
list of vagrants
to criminal
court.
|
600. The warden of the jail of the city of Balti-
more, shall prepare and send to the judge of the
criminal court of Baltimore city, on each and every
Saturday, a full and complete list of the names of all
persons who are committed to his custody, by the
justices of the peace of said city, either as vagrants
or in default of security to keep the peace ; and the
judge of the said court, shall have full power to
review the said commitment, and upon examination
of the various cases so reported to him by the war-
den of the jail as aforesaid, Le shall discharge or
recommit the said parties for a term not to exceed
six months, as in his discretion may be most con-
ducive to the preservation of public peace and order.

Justices' costs.
|
The justices of the peace of the city of Baltimore are
hereby prohibited from charging costs in the cases
above named, unless the parties are recommitted by
order of the judge of said court.

1665, c. 44 repeals 1861, c. 51, B. 1 which emended section 603 and substitutes the
following:

603. The said judges having prepared the said list,
shall require the clerks of the several courts of Bal-
timore city, or a majority of them, to meet in such
one of the court rooms of the said city, at such time
as they shall appoint, not less than ten days before
the beginning of the May term of the superior court
