vided, that the proprietors of such livery stables shall
set up on his premises, in some conspicuous place,
a copy of the aforegoing sections, printed in large
type, and his rates of livery.

INSPECTIONS.
FISH.

1865, c. 192 repeals sections 293, 294, 295, 296, 29f, 298, 299, 300, 301, 302, 303, 304,
305, 306, 307, 308, 309, 310, 311, 312, 313, 314, 315, 316, 317, 318, 319, 320, 321, 322,
323, 324, 325, 326, 327, 326 and 329, and 1864, c. 369, relating to the same and
enacts the following sections in lieu thereof:

293. The governor, by and with the advice and
consent of the senate, shall biennially appoint an
inspector of salted fish in the city of Baltimore.

294. The inspector so appointed shall enter into
bond to the state of Maryland, with good and suffi-
cient securities, to be approved of and retained by
the treasurer, in the penal sum of two hundred dol-
lars, conditioned for the true and faithful discharge
of his duties as inspector.

295. It shall be the duty of said inspector to
inspect all salted fish except such as have been
inspected agreeably to the laws of the county or
state from which they came.

,296. The said inspector shall receive for the in-
spection of each barrel, half barrel, or tierce of
herrings, five cents; for each barrel, half barrel,
or tierce of shad, fifteen cents; and for each kit,
or quarter barrel of herrings or shad, three cents.

Compensation

297. All coopers who may be engaged in the
re-cooperage of fish during the time of inspection,
shall be under the control of the inspector, who
may discharge any cooper who shall refuse, fail or
neglect to perform his duties in a workmanlike or
satisfactory manner.

aforesaid, after having received his discharge as afore-
said, and shall persist in working thereon, he shall
forfeit and pay the sum of twenty dollars.
