171. There is hereby provided and established
another court for the city of Baltimore, which shall
be styled the city court of Baltimore, to consist of
one judge, who shall be elected in the same manner,
be subject to the same constitutional provisions, hold
his office for the same term of years and receive the
same compensation as the judge of the court of com-
mon pleas of the said city.
172. The said city court of Baltimore shall have
concurrent jurisdiction with the court of common
pleas of the city of Baltimore in all civil cases and
in cases of insolvency in said city of Baltimore, in
cases of habeas corpus, in all cases of appeals from
justices of the peace in which the court of common
pleas now has jurisdiction, and shall have concur-
rent jurisdiction in the trial of all criminal cases
with the criminal court of Baltimore whenever the
said cases shall be removed from said criminal court
in compliance with the provisions of this act.

173. The judge of the city court of Baltimore shall
have the same powers out of court which the judge of
the court of common pleas of Baltimore city and the
judge of the criminal court of Baltimore now have,
or may hereafter by law have in all cases in which
the said judge of the city court of Baltimore has
jurisdiction under this act.

175. There shall be a clerk of the aforesaid court,
whose election shall be conducted in the same man-
ner, and whose term of office, liabilities, powers,
duties and compensation shall in all respects be the
same with the clerk of the court of common pleas;
