whenever he shall have increased the number of
such hackney carriages, shall report such increase
to the comptroller, or other proper officers of said
city, and every person violating any one of the pro-
vjsions of this section shall forfeit his license, and
be liable to a penalty of ten dollars.

Fines, how
recovered.
|
147. The fines and penalties imposed by these
additional sections shall be recovered and collected
in the same manner as other fines and penalties of a
like amount are now recovered and collected, and
shall be paid over to the same parties, for the same
purposes, as is provided for in section one hundred
and forty-eight of this article.

COURTS.
SUPERIOR COURT AND COURT OF COMMON PLEAS.
1861, c. 4 repeals 161,362, 163, 164, 165,166, 167,168, 169, 170, 172,173 of this article
being the act of 1858, c. 323, for the dispatch of business in the Superior Court and
Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore City. The act of 1864, c. 6 enacts the follow,
ing, being a re-enactment of said repealed sections with amendments.

161. In addition to the first day of each term of
the superior court of Baltimore city, and of the court
of, common pleas in Baltimore city, the second Mon-
day in February, March, April, June, July, October,
November and December, in each year, shall be re-
turn days.

162. Any person instituting an action in either of
said courts, may, at his election, have his original
writ made returnable to the next succeeding return
day, or, to the first day of the next succeeding
term.

cuted in either of said courts, the same may be re-
newed, returnable to the next return day thereafter,
or to the next term of the said court from which said
original writ was issued.
