duties shall take and subscribe before the clerk of
the superior court of Baltimore city and the clerks

 

of the several circuit courts respectively, the oath
prescribed in the seventh section of the first article
of the constitution, or the oath prescribed for office-
holders in the first section of the act of eighteen
hundred and sixty-seven, chapter seventeen.

14. The said officers of registration shall receive
from the clerk of the superior court of Baltimore
city and the clerks of the several circuit courts, the
books of registration now in the offices of said clerks,
respectively, and shall adopt and use said books for
the purpose of effecting the registration provided for
in this article, and the said clerks shall immediately,
upon the appointment and qualification of said
officers, deliver said books to them, and also duly

record in their respective offices.

15. It shall be the duty of said officers of registra-
tion upon receipt of said books and lists of qualified
voters, to correct the same by striking therefrom the
names of persons who may have removed from the
county or state, or who may have died or have be-
come disqualified under the provisions of the third
and fifth sections of the first article of the constitu-
tion, and all persons whose names appear on said
books and lists as qualified voters after the same
shall have been corrected as aforesaid, are hereby

declared to be legal and qualified voters, and shall
be entitled to vote at every election hereafter held
in this state; the said officers of registration shall
then add to said lists of qualified voters, and register
as such, every white male person who shall apply
to them to be registered, and satisfy them that he
possesses or before the day of the next ensuing elec-
tion will possess the constitutional qualifications of
age, citizenship and residence, and is not disqualified
under the provisions of the third and fifth sections
