ART. — .] PUBLIC INSTRUCTION.

experimental school, to be paid in part, from the
tuition fees derived from the pupils of said model
schools.
111. The annual sum of seven thousand dollars is
hereby appropriated for the support of the state
normal school, to be paid in quarterly instalments,
commencing on the first day of October, eighteen
hundred and sixty-five, by the treasurer, on warrant
of the comptroller, and to be distributed by the state
superintendent as the board of education may direct,
but only for teachers' salaries and the purchase of
educational apparatus; the cost of text books, sta-
tionery, fuel, light and cleaning the rooms, shall be
charged to the incidental expenses of the school,
and paid on the first day of January and the first
day of July, in each year by the treasurer, upon
warrant of comptroller, and certificate of state board
of education, provided such sum shall not exceed
one thousand dollars.
112. All donations or bequests of money or other
personal property, and all grants or devises of lands
for the benefit of the state normal school shall be
held in trust by the state board of education.

114. All male students of the state normal school
shall be taught military tactics, embracing the manual
for infantry, the school of the company and battalion,
to qualify them to introduce a proper system of mili-
tary instruction in the primary schools and high
schools of the state.

to the state normal school such arms and equipments
as are needed for the use of the students.
