9 Issuing unstamped protests penalty evidence.
1862, c. 108 adds the following section to this article:

 

SEC. 9. It shall not be lawful for any notary public
to sign and issue any protest not previously stamped
with the stamp of the comptroller, and any notary
public who shall violate this provision shall, for

every such offence, be liable to a fine of five hundred
dollars, to be recovered by indictment in the circuit
court for the county or in the criminal court of Bal-
timore, as the case may be, one-half for the use of
the state and one-half for the informer; but in no
action or other proceeding in law or equity shall any

protests be rejected as evidence, if otherwise admis-
sible on account of the absence of the stamp of the
comptroller therefrom.

Oysters.

1. Oystermen to take oat licenses.
2 Comptroller to issue licenses to resi-
dents.
3. No license to be issued to non-resi-
dents oath custom house enrollment
4 Rates to be paid for licenses, boats, &c
to be licensed.
5 Penalty fines and forfeiture, to whom
not applicable.
6 Clerks of courts to Issue licenses to
take oysters with rakes or tongs license to
apply only to county w here granted
7. What license shall state license fee.

8 Applicant to make oath name or num-
ber to be painted on canoe, &c penalty
9 Comptroller to have licenses printed
and sent to clerks of courts.
10 Penalty, fine and forfeiture.
11. Owners and masters of boats, &c ,
constituted officers to arrest persons vio-
lating this law, &c
12 Justices to issue warrant
13 Authority to seize boat, &c.
14. Penalty for resisting. fine or imprison-
