RELIEF OF.
Chapter 126 enacts the following:
WHEREAS, the Comptroller of the State was required and directed by reso-
lution number twenty, of the General Assembly, passed at the session of eigh-
teen hundred and sixty-one and eighteen hundred and sixty-two, [I. Supple-
ment, Reso. No. 20, ] thirty days after the passage of the said resolution, to
cause suits to be instituted against all parties indebted to the State therein
named; and whereas, many of said claims ure of long standing, and it is
desirable to secure the speedy settlement of said indebtedness to the State, and
the State to secure the prompt payment of the principal, is willing to release the
interest:
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That all
Clerks, Registers of Wills, Notaries Public, Auctioneers, Foreign Insurance
Agents, Collectors of taxes and Sheriffs, indebted to the State for sums due prior
