38 CARROLL COUNTY. [ART. 7.

CIRCUIT COURT.

Chapter 2 repeals section 7, and re-enacts the same, as follows:

SEC. 1. The next session of the Circuit Court for Carroll
county shall commence on the second Monday in May next, in-
stead of the first Monday in April next, as now provided by
law, and all process and writs original, mesne or judicial, now
issued from said court, purporting to be returnable on the first
Monday in April next, shall be returnable on the second Mon-
day in May next, and have the same validity and effect when so
returned, as if originally issued returnable on the second Mon-
day in May next, and all subsequent sessions of said court, now
prescribed by law to commence and be held at Westminster on
the first Monday in April, and the first Monday in September,
in each and every year, shall commence and be held at West-
minster on the second Monday in May and the second Monday
in November, respectively, and all writs and process shall be
made returnable accordingly.

In force from January 15, 1805.

SHERIFF.

Chapter 112 repeals 1864, ch. 351, (II. Supplement, 72, ) and re-enacts the same, as

follows:

2. The sheriff of Carroll county shall be entitled to such sum of
money, per day, for boarding each prisoner, or person committed
to or confined in the jail of said county, as the county commis-
sioner of said county shall determine, not to exceed seventy-five
cents per day for such prisoner or person, and the said county
commissioners are hereby authorized and empowered to pay to
the sheriff of Carroll county accordingly from the first day of
June, eighteen hundred and sixty-four.
