46 CITY OF BALTIMORE. [ART. 4.

25. They shall severally account for, under oath, and pay
over to the treasurer quarterly, all moneys received by them
as inspectors, after retaining for their services two-thirds of all
moneys received under the four hundred and thirteenth section,
and one-fifth of all moneys received under the four hundred and
twentieth section of this Article, and the inspector at the
Western scales, shall be allowed a sum not exceeding three
hundred dollars annually, for an assistant to carry out the
additional duties required of him by this act, on proof that such
sum has been properly expended by him.

Chapter 328 amends and re-enacts Sections 464, 467, 469, 470, and adds sections, as

follows

26. He shall within the first five days of every quarter, upon
his oath, taken before a justice of the peace of said city, make
a full statement of all receipts for weighing, and from whom re-
ceived, and of all disbursements by him made to the Comp-
troller, and shall pay over to said Comptroller, all balances that
may be in his hands.

27. He may from time to time, as experience may suggest,
and as the public accommodation and convenience may seem to
require, make changes and alterations in the arrangement of
the pens, yards, alleys and appurtenances thereof, and may if
he shall deem it necessary for the public accommodation erect
additional cattle scales; and may make such reasonable rules
and regulations to be observed by the owners or other persons
presenting live stock to be weighed, in the use of said pens,
yards, alleys, scales or appurtenances, as to him may seem ex-
pedient; provided, nevertheless, that no rules or regulations shall
be made or be valid, which shall give any preference or priority
to any owner or other person in the use of said pens, yards,
alleys, scales or appurtenances, or in the order of weighing the
stock, over any other owner or person whose stock shall pre-
viously have been brought in to be weighed, and shall have
