66 PRIVATE ACTS—CHARTERS.

schools, shall not have an actual annual value of more than ten thousand
dollars, and the same, or any part thereof, to dispose of at their plea-
sure, and to execute such deed or deeds as may be necessary therefor; to
sue and be sued, implead and be impleaded; but nothing herein contained
shall be so construed as to confer any banking privileges, upon the said
corporation, or any authority to issue any note, certificate, device or
token to be used as currency; provided, that a majority of said cor-
porators and their successors shall at all times be citizens of the United
States, or persons who shall comply with the conditions of the first sec-
tion of the fourth Article of the Code of Public General Laws.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That Francis Patrick Kenrick, Arch-
bishop of Baltimore, be and he is hereby appointed Honorary Presi-
dent thereof.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the General Assembly of Mary-
land hereby expressly reserves the power at all times to repeal, alter or
amend this charter; provided, however, that when the said charter
shall be so repealed, all the property, real, personal and mixed, then
belonging to the said association or their successors, in possession or
action, shall remain with and belong to the proper owners thereof, their
assignees or legal representatives.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall go into effect from the
time of its passage.

SAINT PAUL'S PARISH.

AN ACT to authorize the Vestry of St. Paul's Parish, in Kent county, to acquire
and hold real estate not exceeding one hundred and twenty acres.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the consent of the Legislature is hereby given to the Vestry of
Saint Paul's Parish, in Kent county, and to their successors, to pur-
chase and hold a lot or parcel of land in said county, not exceeding
one hundred and twenty acres, and to hold and use the same in such
manner and for such purposes as they may deem most conducive to the
interest and benefit of the Parish aforesaid.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from its pas-
sage.

ST. VINCENT'S INFANT ASYLUM.

AN ACT to authorize the St. Vincent's Infant Asylum of the city of Baltimore, to
bind out and control the destitute children under their care.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the St. Vincent's Infant Asylum of the city of Baltimore, and the
officers and board of Directors thereof, shall be entitled to retain under
