52 PRIVATE ACTS — CHARTERS.
INDIVIDUAL ENTERPRIZE COMPANY.
AN ACT to change the name of the Farmers and Merchants' Steam Boat Company
of Nanticoke river to the Individual Enterprize Company.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act passed by the General Assembly of this State at the
January session of the year 1854, chapter 264, entitled, an act to in-
corporate the Farmers and Merchants' Steam Boat Company of Nanti-
coke river, be and the same is hereby amended so as to change and
alter that name or designation wherever it may occur in the said Bill,
and substitute therefor the name and designation of "The Individual
Enterprize Company; " which last name said company is hereby author-
ized to have, assume and use in all its corporate transactions and acts,
in the same manner, for the like purposes, and to the same extent in all
respects under that chapter, as if the said " The Individual Enterprize
Company, " had been therein originally incorporated under the name
and designation now given to it.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect immediately
after the passage thereof.
ISABELLA GAS WORKS.
AN ACT supplementary to an act entitled, An act to incorporate the Isabella Gas
Works of Frederick city.
WHEREAS, in consequence of the sale of the property of the Isabella
Gas Works, the number of Stockholders is not sufficient at this time
to constitute a Board of Directors under the said act of incorpora-
tion, passed by the General Assembly of Maryland, at its January
session, in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-three, chapter two
hundred and thirty-four: and whereas, Charles E. Trail, Jacob M.
Kunkel and William T. Brown, the purchasers of said Works, are
also the holders and owners, by regular transfer and assignment, of
all the stock of said Isabella Gas Works, and the public convenience,
as well as that of. said purchasers, will be promoted by continuing to
said purchasers the rights, privileges and franchises, granted by said
act of incorporation, of the Isabella Gas Works of Frederick city;
therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Charles E. Trail, Jacob M. Kunkel and William T. Brown, and
all such persons as shall associate with them by becoming Stockholders
in the manner hereinafter provided, their successors and assigns, shall
be and they are hereby made and constituted a body politic and cor-
porate, by the name, title and style of " The Isabella Gas Works, " and
as such, shall be entitled to, and shall have, possess and enjoy, all the
rights, privileges, powers and immunities and franchises, heretofore
