REQUIRED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OR EITHER BRANCH
THEREOF, THE GOVERNOR, THE COMPTROLLER, THE TREASURER OR
ANY STATE1S ATTORNEY OK ANY LEGAL MATTER OR SUBJECT.
(B) THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SHALL HAVE AND PERFORM
ANY OTHER DUTIES AND POSSESS ANY OTHER POWERS, AND
APPOINT THE NUMBER OF DEPUTIES OR ASSISTANTS, AS THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY FROM TIME TO TIME MAY [[PRESCRIBES]]
PRESCRIBE BY LAW.
(C) THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SHALL RECEIVE FOR HIS
SERVICES THE ANNUAL SALARY AS THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FROM
TIME TO TIKE MAY PRESCRIBE BY LAW, BUT HE MAY NOT RECEIVE
ANY FEES, PERQUISITES OF REWARDS WHATEVER, IN ADDITION TO
HIS SALARY, FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF ANY OFFICIAL DUTY.
(D) THE GOVERNOR MAY NOT EMPLOY ANY ADDITIONAL
COUNSEL, IN ANY CASE WHATEVER, UNLESS AUTHORIZED BY THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
aforegoing section hereby proposed as an amendment to the
Constitution of Maryland, at the next general election to
be held in this State in Noveaber, 1976, shall be
submitted to the legal and qualified voters thereof for
their adoption or rejection in pursuance of directions
contained in Article XIV of the Constitution of this
State. At that general election, the vote on this
proposed amendment to the Constitution shall be by
ballot, and upon each ballot there shall be printed the
words "For the Constitutional Aaendaents* and "Against
the Constitutional Amendments," as now provided by law
Immediately after the election, all returns shall be made
to the Governor of the vote for and against the proposed
amendment, as directed by Article XIV of the
Constitution, and further proceedings had in accordance
with Article XIV.
[[SECTION 3.]] SECTION__4. AND BE IT FURTHER
ENACTED, (Three-fifths of all the members elected to each
of the two Houses concurring), That the following be and
the same is hereby proposed as an amendment to Section 9
of Article V - Attorney General and State's Attorneys, of
the Constitution of Maryland, the same, if adopted by the
legally qualified voters of the State, as herein
provided, to become a part of the Constitution of
Maryland:
Article V - Attorney General and State's Attorneys
9.
The State's Attorney shall perform such duties and
receive such salary as shall be prescribed by [law] THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY.[; and if] IF any State's Attorney shall
receive any other fee or reward than such as is or nay be
allowed by law, he shall, on conviction thereof, be
removed from office; provided, that the State's Attorney
