(Senate Bill 333)
AN ACT concerning
Appellate Judicial Selection and Tenure
FOR the purpose of proposing amendments to the
Constitution of Maryland relating to the selection
and tenure of certain judges; [[creating an
Appellate Judicial Nominating Commission and
providing for its composition and duties; requiring
the appointment of certain judges by the Governor
from among the nominees of this Commission;]]
providing for a method of filling vacancies in the
office of a lodge of an appellate court; providing
for non-contested elections of appellate judges at
certain intervals; setting the terms of such judges;
deleting references to the contested election of
certain judges; providing for the eligibility of
members of the General Assembly for judicial office;
making interim provision for certain incumbent
judges; and submitting these amendments to the
qualified voters of the State for adoption or
rejection.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, (Three-fifths of all the members elected to
each of the two Houses concurring), That the following be
and the same is hereby proposed as an amendment to
Sections 5, 11, and 14 of Article IV - Judiciary
Department, of the Constitution of Maryland, the same, if
