Town of Gaithersburg, Mayor and Council of Glen Echo, Town of Somer-
set, Town of Takoma Park, Commissioners of Laytonsville, The Commis-
sioners of Poolesville, The Commissioners of Brookville, Town of Ken-
sington, The Commissioners of Barnesville, The Mayor and Council of
Rockville, Treasurer of Oakmont Citizens' Committee, Treasurer of Drum-
mond Citizens' Committee, Treasurer of Chevy Chase Citizens' Com-
mittee Section Two, Treasurer of Chevy Chase Citizens' Committee Sec-
tion Three, Treasurer of Chevy Chase Citizens' Committee Section Four,
Treasurer of Chevy Chase Citizens' Committee Section Five, Treasurer
of Martin's Additions 1, 2, 3 and 4, to Village of Chevy Chase Citizens'
Committee, Treasurer of North Chevy Chase Citizens' Committee, Trea-
surer of Friendship Heights Citizens' Committee, to the Treasurer of
the Citizens' Committee of Chevy Chase View on the first day of Janu-
ary A. D. 1938, and on the same day of each and every year while this
Act is in effect, the proportion which the number of miles of roads and
streets in each incorporated Town and Special Taxing Area, not includ-
ing streets and roads not yet opened, under the supervision and upkeep
of each incorporated Town and Special Taxing Area, bears to the total
number of miles of roads existing in Montgomery County, its Incor-
porated Towns and Special Taxing Areas, not including State Roads
and Streets and roads not yet open, provided, however, that the total
amount so paid shall not in any year exceed twelve per cent. (12%) of
the amount allocated to Montgomery County. The amount so paid by the
State Roads Commission to said Incorporated Towns and Treasurers of
said Taxing Areas shall be for the following uses and purposes:
(a) For the construction, reconstruction and maintenance of roads and
streets, exclusive of State Roads which are constructed, reconstructed and
maintained by the State Roads Commission, at the discretion of the gov-
erning bodies of said Incorporated Towns .or Special Taxing Areas and
free from the supervision of the State of Maryland, and Montgomery
County.
(b) For debt service, that is to say, interest, sinking fund or maturity
requirements with respect to bonds or other evidences of debt heretofore
issued or to be issued in the future for road or street improvement in said
Incorporated Towns and Special Taxing Areas.1

11. The State Roads Commission of Maryland is hereby empowered
and directed to pay the Mayor and Town Council of Lonaconing out of the
funds allocated to Allegany County by the State Roads Commission of
Maryland from the "One and one-half Cent Lateral, County and Munici-
pal Road Gasoline Tax Fund," such sum or sums of money as to retire
each year two bonds in the amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00)
each, plus the interest on the unpaid bonds at the rate of five per centum
per annum, until all of the outstanding bonds in the amount of Seventeen
Thousand Dollars ($17,000.00) are paid, said bonds being the unpaid
remainder of an issue of Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00), and
the funds used by the Mayor and Town Council of Lonaconing in the re-
construction of that part of a post-road, known as Route Number Thirty-
six, that is within the corporate limits of the Town of Lonaconing, and
said bonds, having been issued in accordance with the provisions of Chap-
ter 174 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1924.
