magistrate so causing the substitution shall be diminished by a sum neces-
sary to compensate the substitute as herein provided, for any such period
of absence or inability in excess of 15 days in any one year.

1939, ch. 720, sec. 109.

111. (Corporate Bond.) Every trial magistrate, before entering upon
his official duties, shall give to the State of Maryland and file with the
Clerk of the Circuit Court for the county, a good and sufficient bond, with
corporate security to be approved by the County Commissioners of the
County for which he was appointed, in the penalty of five thousand
($5,000.00) dollars, upon the condition expressed in each of said bonds
that the Justice giving it will truly and faithfully discharge, execute and
perform all and singular the duties and obligations of a justice of the peace,
and that he will account for and pay over to the County Commissioners
of the County, or to whomsoever else may be otherwise or hereafter desig-
nated by law as the proper recipient thereof, all fees, costs, fines, penalties
and forfeitures which he is bound to account for and pay over as aforesaid,
and that he will faithfully and truly account for and pay over to the person
or corporation entitled thereto all money belonging to such person or cor-
poration which may come into his hands as such justice of the peace.

Every justice of the peace other than a trial magistrate or a substitute
trial magistrate, shall, before entering upon his duties, give a corporate
bond similarly conditioned, in the amount of $1,000.00.

The premiums of all bonds required by this sub-title shall be paid by
the County Commissioners.

1939, ch. 720, sec. 110.

112. (Reports and Remittances.) Every trial magistrate shall on the
second Monday of each month file with the County Commissioners a report
in writing, under oath, of all cases civil and criminal, heard or tried before
him during the preceding months, which report shall state in each case the
names of the parties, the nature of the case or the offense charged, the
number of witnesses summoned, the name of the officer serving the warrant
and summons, the judgment rendered, and the amount of the fine, penalty
or forfeiture, fees and costs imposed and collected; and he shall at the time
of making his report pay over to the County Commissioners all such fines,
penalties, forfeitures, fees and costs stated in his said report, except in
Motor Vehicle cases, for which provision is made in Section 99.

Failure of a trial magistrate to make reports to the County Commis-
sioners and to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles of all cases instituted
before or tried by him and the disposition thereof as required by this sub-
title and failure to remit promptly all moneys herein required to be remitted
to the County Commissioners and the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles,
shall be deemed a violation of this sub-title.

1939, ch. 720, sec. 111.

113. (Levy of Necessary Taxes.) The County Commissioners in each
County are hereby authorized and directed to levy and collect annual
taxes, on the property assessable for taxation in said County, to such
amount as may be necessary to supplement their receipts from the Com-
missioner of Motor Vehicles and trial magistrates under this sub-title, for
the payment of the salaries of trial magistrates, other justices of the peace
