JUSTICES OF THE PEACE 2249

The trial magistrate at Towson shall receive an annual salary of three
thousand dollars. The trial magistrates at Catonsville, Dundalk, Essex,
Fullerton, Halethorpe and Pikesville shall each receive annual salaries of
eighteen hundred dollars. The trial magistrates at Cockeysville, Edgemere,
Kingsville, Parkton, Reisterstown, Sparrows Point and Woodlawn shall
each receive annual salaries of twelve hundred dollars.

(Calvert County.) There shall be one trial magistrate who shall sit
at Prince Frederick and shall receive an annual salary of $900.00. At
least one day or part thereof in each week he shall sit at Sunderland and
at such other place or places in said county as the public business may from
time to time require. There shall be one trial magistrate who shall sit at
North Beach or Chesapeake Beach and who shall sit as often as the public
interest may require. Such magistrate shall receive an annual salary of
$350.00, payable $100.00 July 1, $100.00 August 15, $100.00 October 1
and $50.00 March 1, which shall be paid by the municipalities of North
Beach and Chesapeake Beach, each municipality contributing the propor-
tion of said salary which the amount of costs, fines, penalties and forfeitures
collected by it since the last previous salary payment bears to the total
amount of costs, fines, penalties and forfeitures collected in the two munici-
palities in such period, and if no collection be made in either municipality
then the salary payment shall be divided equally between them.

(Caroline County.) There shall be two trial magistrates, one of whom
shall sit in Denton and receive an annual salary of one thousand dollars
($1000.00) ; he shall sit not less than one day or part thereof in each week
in Ridgely and one day or a part thereof in each week in Greensboro,
provided that he may, in his discretion, sit in two or more of said towns on
the same day as the public business may demand. The other trial magis-
trate shall sit at Federalsburg and receive an annual salary of six hundred
dollars ($600.00); he shall sit not less than two days or parts thereof in
each week in Preston, provided that he may, in his discretion sit in both
of said towns on the same day as the public business may demand.

(Carroll County.) There shall be two trial magistrates, one of whom
shall sit at Westminster and receive an annual salary of twenty-four hun-
dred dollars ($2400.00); the other shall sit not less than one day or part
thereof in each week in Manchester, Mt. Airy, Taneytown, Union Bridge
and Sykesville and receive an annual salary of twelve hundred dollars
($1200.00); provided that he may sit in more than one of said places on
the same day, in his discretion and as the public business may require.

(Cecil County.) There shall be four trial magistrates, one of whom
shall sit at Elkton and shall receive an annual salary of $1000.00, one of
whom shall sit at Chesapeake City and shall receive an annual salary of
$500.00, one of whom shall sit at Port Deposit and shall receive an annual
salary of $500.00, and one of whom shall sit at Rising Sun and shall receive
an annual salary of $500.00.

(Charles County.) There shall be one trial magistrate who shall sit at
La Plata and shall receive an annual salary of $1,200.00.

(Dorchester County.) There shall be one trial magistrate who shall
sit at Cambridge and shall receive an annual salary of $2,100.00. He shall
sit not less than one day or part thereof in each week at Hurlock. The said
magistrate shall appoint a clerk, who shall receive an annual salary of
$1,200.00, payable monthly, the said salary to be paid by the County Com-
missioners of Dorchester County.
