350. Violation of any of the sections of this sub-title, except the
licensing sections for which provision is made in Section 342 hereof, shall
be deemed a misdemeanor punishable upon conviction by a fine of not
more than one hundred dollars or imprisonment for one year, or both, in
the discretion of the Court.

351. If any section or provision of this sub-title shall be declared
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining sections or provi-
sions thereof.

Hydrophobia.

352. The State Board of Health is hereby authorized, empowered and
directed to provide for the treatment of persons exposed to the contagion
of hydrophobia who are unable to pay the usual charges for the treatment
known as the "Pasteur Treatment."

Optometry.

353. Within thirty days after April 13, 1914, the Governor shall ap-
point a Board of Examiners of Optometry for the State of Maryland. The
board shall consist of five persons, not more than two of whom may be, but
not necessarily, physicians. The board shall be selected from a list of ten
names endorsed by the Maryland Association of Optometrists. No person
shall be eligible to appointment as a member of said board unless he has
been engaged in the actual practice of Optometry or ophthalmology in the
State of Maryland continuously for five years last past, and a resident
thereof. A vacancy from any cause shall be filled by the Governor for the
unexpired term from a list of three names submitted by the Maryland
Association of Optometrists. Each member of said board shall hold office
for a term of two years and until his successor is duly appointed and quali-
fied, except as hereinafter provided.

In the year 1922, of the five persons appointed upon the expiration of
the terms of the members appointed in the year 1920, two shall be appointed
for a term of two years and until their successors shall respectively be
duly appointed and qualified and three shall be appointed for a term of four
years and until their successors shall respectively be duly appointed and
qualified. In the year 1924 and every four years thereafter two persons
shall be appointed to said board from a list of six names endorsed by the
Maryland Association of Optometrists; and in the year 1926 and every
four years thereafter three persons shall be appointed to said board from
a list of nine names endorsed by the Maryland Association of Optometrists.
Every member of said board appointed subsequent to the above mentioned
appointments of the year 1922, except those appointed to fill vacancies,
shall hold office for a term of four years and until his successor shall be duly
appointed and qualified.
